2011 Point West Bike Subsidy Program
The Point West Area TMA will provide up to $5,000 in subsidies for the purchase of new bicycles and bicycle accessories in 2011. The subsidies are intended to promote bicycle commuting.
This program is only available to commuters who work for a Point West Area TMA member.
A Review Panel will make final selection of subsidy recipients based on information provided by applicants. Please note that applicants can submit additional information and letters of support.
Applicants must be members of the on-line Commuter Club (www.sacregioncommuterclub.com) and attend a TMA-sponsored bicycle safety clinic. Check the TMA web site for a list of clinics to be held in the Point West Area.
Subsidy winners much agree to log a minimum of 12 bike commute trips during the Month of May at www.mayisbikemonth.com. Recreational and errand trips can also be logged but cannot substitute for the required bike commute trips.
The cap for the individual subsidies is $300; 100% of the cost of a bicycle can be reimbursed if the total cost is less than $300. Accessories, such as helmets and lights, can be considered for the subsidy.
